The Active Family Challenge is a 10-week Fall and Winter challenge offering families an opportunity to earn rewards for active play.

Active Family Challenge involves:
  • Families or neighbors sign up together to form a team and then choose a team name.
  • Teams keep track of the number of hours of active play for each individual on a handy record sheet and then phone or e-mail it to the parks department weekly.
  • Active play can be as simple as walking the dog, playing soccer, or riding a bike. Or, you can sign up for classes or activities listed in the Marathon County Active Recreation Guide. This is included in the Active Family Challenge binder you receive when you gisn up for the Active Family Challenge with the Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department.
  • Participants receive a t-shirt when the 90 hour goal is reached. Additional prizes are awarded as hours accumulate. Prizes may include water bottles, free passes to local ski trails, tubing hills, and more!
