Our vision is to support and enhance healthy aging in Marathon County, promoting independence in the home or community for as long as possible
History
Established in 2003, Partnership for Healthy Aging was originally formed under the name Health Care for the Elderly Workgroup in response health priorities identified in the 2002 Community Health Assessment for Marathon County.

- Marathon County’s older population growth rate is faster than the State’s as a whole (11.7% vs. 7.9%)
- In comparison to the state average (7.4%), Marathon County has a higher percentage of elderly living in poverty (8.2%)
- Between 1990 and 2005 Marathon County has grown from 6,464 persons over the age of 75 to 8,466
- In 2005, Partnership for Healthy Aging established a priority called “Falls Prevention.” Falls has had a significant impact in maintaining the independence of elderly persons in Marathon County.
